Is there a Canadian au pair visa?

IEC lists Working Holiday, Young Professionals and International Co-op categories, not a separate au pair visa. Check an appropriate route and the conditions that permit childcare work.

Can someone start while waiting for IEC approval?

An IEC profile or pending application does not itself authorize work. Confirm the person’s actual legal work rights before employment begins.

Does living with the family mean being available all day?

Set agreed working hours and protected personal time. A live-in arrangement should have clear boundaries and comply with applicable employment standards.

Is Working Holiday available to every EU resident?

No. Eligibility is based on citizenship and the relevant country agreement, with individual conditions. Residence in an EU country alone is not enough.
