International Experience Canada is a Government of Canada program for young people from partner countries and territories. It combines temporary work with travel, cultural discovery and personal development. Participants can practise English or French, build international experience and earn money to help fund their stay.
A starting checklist
- Check your eligible citizenship and category.
- Hold a valid passport.
- Meet the country-specific age requirement.
- Arrange health insurance for the whole stay.
- Budget for your initial living expenses.
- Obtain the required work permit before working.
The brochure describes ages 18–35 and stays up to two years in general terms. Your country’s agreement controls the actual age, duration and categories.
